I got a question for which I could not find an answer so I thought I would post here. The question is

Is there any difference in codeql performance or coverage between building a debug build and a release build in dotnet? Does GitHub have any recommendations about debug build analysis?

Hi @JoeNunnelley,

If your debug and release builds, build exactly the same code, then there will be no difference. If the code compiled is conditional on whether you do a debug or a release build, e.g., because you use C# #if preprocessor directives, then coverage will depend on the values of the conditional compilation symbols.
