Translating full pages at once

Hi, I would like to know if, besides using keys to translate strings, it is possible to translate the whole page. Similar to the approach of Google Translate, where I just add something to the page and it gets translated.

This feature is on our roadmap, and it's called "Translation proxy" https://tolgee.io/roadmap

You can translate your website to be SEO-friendly or use a script that translates your page not-so-SEO-friendly.

We postponed this because it is not as trivial as it might look like.

Let's imagine a simple script that you include into a page that will simply translate the strings like Google Translate...

• Cool, but what's the point if there is Google Translate?
• Tolgee aims to provide the best quality localization
• Such a tool would compromise quality

So OK, let's translate the page, but make it editable by the maintainers of localized versions of the site...

In that case, we will need to store the strings on the Tolgee platform. Doable right?

• But what if the page is dynamic so it changes every render? There has to be some limit...
• What if it contains content that should not be translated?
• What if there are parts the user doesn't want to translate
• How to recognize the translatable parts?

Since this is not trivial, we decided to focus on the "key-based" app translation. When this is perfect and ultimately mastered by Tolgee, we will continue with other features.

I cannot use Google Translate. I don't need SEO either. I need to "pin" certain words, and I can't rely on external services. For translation, I'm using a Hugging Face model (https://huggingface.co/facebook/seamless-m4t-v2-large) running locally, combining it with Tolgee. I'm delighted that Tolgee will cover this feature in the future.
