Welcome to UtahPLT!

We're thrilled to start working with you. Follow this onboarding guide to get set up.

  • Join the UtahPLT workspace and the #2180-casual channel in the grad school workspace for lab-related updates.
    • Introduce yourself in the UtahPLT #general channel. Include your name, your major, and research interests or goals (short-term, preferably)
    • Be sure you have notifications for priority channels and direct messages (or some combination of that) so you do not miss out on important updates as slack is our primary mode of communication.
  • Set a uMail alias: link
  • Send an email to one of the administrative assistants at the front desk to get your 2180 lab key set up or submit this form to request a key.
  • Join the department-wide mailing lists
    • Mailing Lists has a list of CS grad lists or CS lists
    • Eric Eide’s group hosts a seminar every other semester and maintains a mailing list for that. I would recommend that. Sign up
    • You could also consider subscribing to the upenn types forum mailing list for type theory discussions.
  • [For PhDs] Get your work environment setup
    • Reach out to your Advisor with relevant purchasing links if you need any equipment. They will typically have a budget for this.
